UCCNC Z Drops! Help

Postby tahoedirk » Wed Jun 04, 2025 7:19 pm

Hello
Home built bulk man 1m x 1.5m machine in California here

My z axis plummets to a destructive -22.87mm right before starting the machine path.
I am exhausted. I am out of ideas.
I have been struggling for days now.
After years of success, my computer died. I almost have another one working again.

I had to read UCCNC instalation instructions , change the pins for accurate scale ,and switch the z driver to get the direction working properly. I first tried checking the active low box in configuration direction but that didn't work.
The code from fusion 360 clearly starts with a negative value before moving to the first cut
What am I missing ??
any ideas?
thank you in advance!!

99.9% it's your g-code doing it.

Edit out the Z drop line of code and see if that clears the problem. If it does then you have to figure out what is going on in the Fusion settings that is causing that to be added to the code.

Thank you guys!
It was the safe retract setting in fusion 360 post processing.
Posting this question on another forum led me to the answer.

Thanks for your help, my machine is working again!!
