I'm getting a spindle with an ISO 20 tool changer. The tools will be on a rack with an automated cover and slide out from the rack horizontally. The macro I need would need to be able to open the rack lid, pick the tool up, load the offset from the tool table and close the lid. However, if a new tool is loaded to the rack, there should be another macro to measure the tool length offset using a built in tool-setter the machine is equipped with. Does anyone have something similar that I could use?
Another option I came up with was to modify the Rapid Change ATC macro that I'm currently using, but I've never done any macro programming. I'm quite happy with RapidChange, but we're buying a new machine soon and having a proper ATC spindle should save us the hassle of measuring the tool length offset each time the tool gets changed.
