AXBB-E 24V Supply Too High?

Postby Joepayne1 » Thu Jan 19, 2023 8:37 pm

Hello,

In the process of converting a Boxford 190VMC and am going to use the existing 24V supply to power the AXBB-E.
I measured the supply across the capacitor and it reads 27.4V. Is this likely to fry the board? If so, how do I go about reducing this voltage to make this compatible? Completely new to electronics so go easy!

Up to 30Volts it should be fine.

Up to 30Volts it should be fine "by design", but we did not test it with more than 24Volts.

Or put a few diodes in series, they drop a fraction of volts, e.g. 0.6V drop per diode for a standard type diode.

Thanks for your replies. I will investigate both options as I would like to keep it to 24v.
