UB1 Drive wiring check

Postby SMITYP116 » Tue Dec 06, 2022 9:25 pm

Good evening everyone,

I'm looking to finally convert my machine from DSP to UCCNC. Hardware wise I'm using a ub1 Bob.

The stepper drives are as per the picture below:

Looking at the manual I just want to double check my understanding of how ro wire the drives I have are correct. My understanding is as per the coloured dots on the above and below images

Hopefully my understanding is correct?

Many thanks
Paul

Many thanks my friend. Would you say this should be sheilded twisted pairs. My current wiring from the company that built the machine isn't. But that was on the dsp setup.

Twisted pair isn't necessary, but shielding could be beneficial. I used shielded aircraft wire with 22 gauge conductors. It's lighter and thinner than STP (that is, network cable).

Terminate the shield on one side only. I used solder sleeves with a 22 gauge pigtail.
