Uccnc not staying within acceleration parameters?

Postby rmtucker » Thu Dec 05, 2019 2:41 pm

Seem to have found a problem within Uccnc?.
Little bit of background info first:-
Using Uccnc v2.111 with a UC100 Dongle.
I have attached my profile and program in question.
I realized after copying the profile that the x and z axis will need enabling in the config screens again (Sorry).
Anyway I have had no problems until i started doing 3d carvings and suddenly the z axis would lose steps,I know this is common and usually boils down to accel/velocity settings.
I tried the accel all the way down to 30mm.
But no matter what i did i could not get rid of them,After two weeks of trying for hours every day.
Any way to cut a long story short.
Disabled the x and y axis in the config screens so only the z was enabled and pulled the fuses to x and y aswell so the only drive that is powered is the z axis.
Ran the program from start to finish with no lost steps.
Sounded lovely and smooth.
Now turned on the x axis in config screen but still no power to the drive.
Ran the program and had lost steps and the z axis did not sound as smooth (Seemed to be making abrupt starts and stops in places).
So the only conclusion i can come to is that when accel/decel in multiple axis in certain situations uccnc or uc100 is not working within the parameters given?
Or there is some kind of crosstalk between the Low level step and direction lines between the axis but this is highly unlikely after all these years.

There was never a problem like that at anybody, so I doubt that it is a valid UCCNC problem, but my collegue "Dezsoe" will check your code and profile.

I'll check it on a machine, but now I'm away from home.

Thank you
There is always a first time :D :D
I have been doing this for a couple of decades and never seen this either :D

Could someone else maybe try the program on there machine but a stepper driven machine would be better and see if they have a problem with the z axis :)

I have tried further Tests.
I rotated the program 90 deg so all the work was now in y and z
Disabled the x and y axis in the config screens so only the z was enabled and pulled the fuses to x and y aswell so the only drive that is powered is the z axis.
Ran the program from start to finish with no lost steps.
Sounded lovely and smooth.
Now turned on the y axis in config screen but still no power to the drive.
And guess what it lost steps again.
I am totally lost off with this as it makes no sense.
Next step borrow my mates uc100 and run the same checks.
It is as though the acceleration is being adhered too if running only one axis but as soon as another axis is enabled in config it no longer adheres to the parameters given.
It can not be interference as the only drive that has power is the z during all these tests.

Also, verify that your power supply is adequate to drive all axis' simultaneously.

Hi Thanks it is plenty big enough, but during all these tests there is only the z drive powered anyway.

Hmm. I did a lot of tests today, but I totally forgot that you have a UC100. I tested with AXBB and UC400, so I'll do some more tests.

Thank you so much for testing this.
It is driving me crazy after trying today with the y axis and z axis and still seeing the problem.
Are you testing on steppers or servo's?
