Z Soft Limits

Postby RWC » Thu Apr 25, 2019 12:29 am

Hello folks :)
1.2109
Trying to set Z soft limits. Enabled, of course.
Only allows and responds to a Z+ setting.
In machine coords, full UP is 0.0000, all else is Z- (-5 actually, a Bridgeport quill).
Cannot set +0 and -5. (apply and save)
Automatically reverts to +5 and -0.
Bass ackwards as I see it.
Is this a bug ?
Or am I missing something ?
Thank you,
Russ

Minimum can't be more than the maximum. In other words maximum >= minimum. And +0 = -0 = +-0 :)

Thanks, but I still don't get it.
Why doesn't this work ?
I can jog to Machine coords 5+ ... which is a crash.
But can't jog below Z0 ... whick is HOME in Mach Coords ? ? ?

Try setting teh Z- setting to -5 instead of 5. Works here.

Also are you ref home teh Z axis to a switch or doing it manually. IF to a switch you may not have teh full 5 inches of travel of teh quill.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

HI TP.
Yeah, -5 works
Coulda sword I tried that earlier as well. sorry
Just assumed the - entry would automatically be a - entry. :D You don't have to put a + beside the other, right ? :?
Ya know how them dang wizRDS ARE IN mACH.... some you need the + or - sign , many you don't.
Ya just never know till ya try.
It is to a switch. Just used the 5 as an example. (oh, that's -5  )
Thanks,
Russ

Instead of + and -, it should probably read max and min. :D

Yes, I agree. That would have made it clearer for me anyway. :)
Not sure why -5 didn't work earlier. Must have missed the Apply/Save when I tried that.
Good now,
Thanks,
Russ
