Hi Gerry
I have spindle control problem works fine in standard screen set but have been unable to get it to work in 2017 I had been able to turn the spindle on but cant get that to work now but when it was working i had no speed control

My spindle is controlled with step and pulse could you have a look at the 2 profiles and give some guidance

Bob Campbell sound logic BOB

AndrewsMillGarage.pro
(29.74 KiB) Downloaded 947 times
speed control works with S +- 50rpm
MillGarage_Probe.pro
(31.78 KiB) Downloaded 942 times
spindle relay clicks but no rotation I did have this working with 9000 steps per revolution (but no speed control) but in trying to get speed control i must of changed something as now I have a dead spindle if i use 2017

Thanks for looking Andrew

They look to be identical, but I found one thing different.

One odd thing that I noticed was that you have the spindle Index pin set to the same pin as the probe pin.
Looking a little deeper, I opened the spindle PID control window.
In your profile that works, in the PID control, you have a minimum speed of 10, and a max of 5000. Clicking the M3 button there shows the commanded RPM a little above the bottom.
In the profile that doesn't work, you have the min at 800, and the max at 2400. Clicking the M3 button shows the red line at the bottom, which would appear to be a commanded rpm of 0??

Now, the PID is only supposed to work with PWM, but this is the only difference that I see.
Unfortunately, I know nothing about the Campbell board or using a step/dir spindle.
I don't know why it's not working, but I don't believe that it's the screen. I could be wrong, though.

You should be able to just copy the working profile, rename it, and change the screenset filename in it. You'll need to do some further setup, but the spindle should work.

Seems like you've setup and then disabled a lot of stuff in those profiles, so you also might want to start with a clean profile, and setup the spindle only first.

Just ordered. Will probably be installing it on a second machine in the near future. The preview panes look nice.

I have the 2017-screenset working. I have 1 small problem that I could use some advice to correct.
when I home all the axis X sets = machine Coord to 0 and the Y = 0 but Z =50.000
If I use the goto 0 button X and Y I believe should move to machine 0. My problem
is hat Z moves first and it moves down to table top it appears to be heading to 50.0000
driving Z into the bed. Do I need to change this in the pro file as I see no way to change it
under the screen set.

Thank You

50 Is the default Z axis Home Offset in UCCNC.
Machine Zero Offset in the Axes Setup screen.

Maybe I am not explaining this correctly. If I home my machine it's sets X and Y equals 0 , Z equals 50 . I think when you home the machine the machine coordinates should all equal zero .

If the machine coordinates should all equal zero when homed then you have to set the home offset parameter to 0 on all axes.
The default values are 0,0,50 for the X,Y,Z.
