Hiya Robert keep thinking about it . It will dawn on you sooner or later. AND it was not me who set it up that way you will have to blame UCCNC for that. BUT I do agree with how and why they did it that way.

Use the Spindle CW and CCW leds, I think 50 and 51. Both false brake on.

dhanger ... pee on the electric fence and give it a go.

report back if you find anything that doesn't work like you want it to and we can see if there is a way around it.

Do you need the brake engaged when the RESET / ESTOP is active ? The problem with that one is you probably want the spindle to decelerate first before applying the brake.... it can be done via macroloop watching the spindle speed. its not difficult or complicated, but start somewhere and see where it gets you.

I've had a little think when time permits and I cannot figure out the "great mystery" mentioned earlier as to why what was proposed may not do what you want it to do.

Obviously dry run it and simulate whatever scenarios you can think of (estop / reset, feedhold, run, stop, mdi, gcode etc etc).

Let me know if you need any other help and I'll try to help out and maybe someone will chip in with something useful and clear.

Good luck

Hah hah, I grew up in the country and I was always helping my dad tear down and put up fences for all the little livestock my mom wanted. Most of the time it was electric fences and I sure got my share of zaps. Never pee'd on one (left that to others) but I still remember my brother hanging a spitball from his mouth onto the fence--he only did that once.

Okay, I'll give it a shot tonight and let you know.
