UC400 ETH

Dear CNCdrive,

I purchased a UC400eth and license from you in Dec 2016

After a successful install and period of running, I have had some issues with operation, namely port 1 losing ability to function certain axis. I have since been using PORT 2 as an alternative.

Recently i have had further problems that i now believe PORT 2 is also now malfunctioning (We have conducted a thorough machine diagnosis)

The machine is in commercial operation and had been performing well on PORT 2 until now.

I will need to purchase a replacement in order to continue our work output.

Questions:

1. What is the situation regarding the license. If i purchase a new UC400 can the license i currently have be transferred to the new one?
2. Do you want me to send back the original for diagnosis?

Please advice

Many thanks

Rob

Note: I had tried to contact CNCdrive via email on two occasions in October 2018 but never received any response - Hence this post

Yes, we can transfer the license to a new device for free of charge if:

1.) You send the defective device back to us for demolition.
OR
2.) You make the device permamently damage and sending a photo to us.
This can be done the simplest with drilling a hole into the microcontroller.

However if the port pins damaged like how you described then something is wrong in your setup, because it is very unusual that port pins just damages, so I would check what is wrong why it is happening.
