UCCNC Loading to Grey Screen

Postby Lester » Wed May 08, 2019 9:26 pm

Hi

Am in the process of commissioning my first cnc mill - an AMAT32 conversion.

Have one of the ST-V2 breakout boards from Steppersonline paired with a UC300ETH-5LBT.

Have successfully installed UCCNC, but every time I attempt to boot it up am faced with a grey window (where I assume all the control buttons should be) after the initial loading splash screen. The same issue has happened in the demo version as well as after adding my license to the Directory.

Any ideas?! Have tried to google but no success!
Can post pictures of my PC Spec (from what I can see all fine) and the issue if that'd be useful.

Thanks in advance!

Sound like the screenset is not loading for some reason.

Did you install the program in the default location?

Make sure that the Defaultscreenset.ssf is in the folder named "Screens"

If you open the profile you are using (Default.pro) in a text editor the first two lines should be as follows;

[Screensetsettings]
mainscreenfilename=Defaultscreenset

If the screenset is missing there is an error message. Check the video driver and install/update. What kind of video card do you have? If it is integrated then check the BIOS if there is an option to set the video memory size and if yes then increase it.

The screenset file might be empty.

Checked both of these this morning before work. Screenset in the correct place and also referenced in my profile.

Recently reinstalled my OS on this PC so could be the issue. Thought I had put all the latest video drivers back on. Definitely something to check!

I presume this would have a really tiny file size? Anywhere I can download the default Screenset or is it just a case of reinstalling?

Interestingly enough, a black box appears if I resize the window. Not sure if this shows anything?

It could be an OpenGL issue. Try to reinstall the video card drivers.
