Hi Terry,

The 5V connection is the same on both sides.
Normally you connect the 5Volts on the screw terminal side and if the diff.side electronics needs and 5Volts then you can get it from the ethernet cable.

And the 5Volts wire is not on that side of the connectors. I'm not sure if you just drew it next to the connector, but to make sure I thought to mention it.

I am hooking a UC300eth to an Allen Bradley drive that uses DIff signals for teh step dir.

It appears that this device is for encoder signals, not step/dir signals.

If you need differential step/dir signals, you could use a UB1 breakout board.
