AXBB Port 1, Pin 1 output not working

Postby xnaron » Wed Jul 29, 2020 10:46 pm

I have just got my axbb-e up and running and noticed a problem on port 1 , pin 1 isolated output. I am using UCCNC. I am not sure if it is a hardware or software issue. I setup the M3 port to port 1 and pin 1. I click the torch on and the led light on the axbb-e that corresponds to the light flashes very very briefly. If I assign m3 to the output pins 2 to 8 the led's will stay on and go off with clicking torch on (on and off). There is nothing connected to pin 1 on the axbb. I have checked all the IO screens and don't see anything assigned to port 1, pin 1.
How can I diagnose further?

Thanks,
Brendin

Correction. The led briefly flashes once when the output is turned off not turned on. The output is not activating.

It does not matter if anything is connected to the output or not. Running 1.2.113 UCCNC.

Port#1 pin#1 on the AXBB-E is a charge pump output, you cannot use it as a normal output, please read the users manual for details.

So pin O1 on port @1 can only be used to enable stepper driver ?

It can be used only as a charge pump, usually it is used to power/unpower the stepper or servo drives.

I'm sorry for waking up this thread again but the conclusion here confuses me since the AXBB-E manual states:
"There is one charge pump safety circuit integrated on the board in port#1 O1 CHP output.
The charge pump circuit senses the charge pump pulse stream signal from the controller and
if the signal exists then the output is switched on and if it cuts then the output switches off.
The charge pump can be used to control a safety relay to cut power when the software is not
running on the computer."
To me it looks very clear that this pin CAN be used to control a relay but it would be nice if someone could verify this.
(I'm on my way putting togeather my CNC controller with an AXBB-E but haven't come far enough to test this yet)

Yes, it can drive a relay just like any other outputs, but because it has a built in CHP circuit it must be configured as charge pump signal in the UCCNC software.
That outputs a digital PWM signal to the board which the charge pump circuit receives and that drives the output Mosfet transistor which can control a relay.
