Migrating from Mach3 to UCCNC – Motors Not Responding

Postby Sobschack » Thu May 22, 2025 9:32 am

Hello everyone,

I’m in the process of migrating my CNC router from Mach3 to UCCNC and I’m encountering a problem.

Here is my setup: Gecko G540 drivers connected via USB through a UC100 CNCdrive adapter. The PC is running Windows 7 (not connected to the internet).

My Mach3/Gecko configuration is very standard: motors on Port 1, pin 2/3 for X, pin 4/5 for Y, pin 7/6 for Z. Same for the limit switches: Port 1, pin 10 for X, pin 11 for Y, pin 12 for Z.
I manually copied these settings into UCCNC.

The green and blue LEDs turn on properly when I launch UCCNC.

However, when I launch Mach3, the motors make a noise and are electrically locked. Once I reset the emergency stop, I can move the motors directly using the PC keyboard.

When I launch UCCNC, nothing happens. Even after resetting the emergency stop, the motors are not electrically locked and I cannot move them with the keyboard. Same when I run a G-code: no movement at all.
I am NOT in demo mode (I don't see any demo indication in the window header).

I searched quite a lot on the internet and in the documentation PDF, but I can’t figure out what I’m missing. I should mention that I’m not a native English speaker—maybe I’m missing something because of the language.

Thanks in advance,
Vincent

Depending on what drive or breakout board you using you might miss an enable or charge pump signal.
