Hi everyone,
I’ve built a RatRig StrongHold Pro CNC with an AXBB-E controller.
Right now, I’m having trouble controlling the spindle through UCCNC. The spindle works fine when I control it manually using the VFD knob — I can start it and adjust the speed manually without any issues. But I’d really like to control the spindle speed directly from UCCNC.
I’ve followed the CNC manual’s wiring instructions, but I’m not sure if the manual is outdated or if I’ve messed up the connections somehow.
The manual states:
Connect the red wire to the VI terminal on the VFD and the A01 analog input on the AXBB-E
Connect the black wire to the black PTFix Block and the ACM terminal on the VFD
Connect the FOR terminal to the DCM terminal on the VFD
(See attached screenshots of the manual and my UCCNC settings.)
However, my AXBB-E board looks a bit different than the one in the manual. At the ANALOG IN/OUT section, my board doesn’t have Ai1, Ai2, AO1 labels — instead, it just has pins labeled 1, 2, and 1 again (attached photo). Could this be causing the issue?
Also, I noticed that the FOR and DCM terminals on my VFD are permanently bridged. Is that correct? If so, what are the proper UCCNC pin assignments for this setup? I imported the RatRig profile into UCCNC, but I’m wondering if there are any differences with the updated AXBB-E controller.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
