UC100 losing x axis comunication.

Hi all,, I have a UC100 error/ Question maybe someone can point me in the right direction to solve.
It's more of a UC100 thing than a Mach 3 thing but I figured I'm using it with Mach3 so I'd put it here.

I have a machine with a UC100, mach3, and a Leadshine MX4660 that has been Bullet proof for a coulpe years now.
I turn on the rig and get ready to run a carve, and notice my X-axis don't move even though mach3 says it's moving. I go look at the MX4660 and all the lights are green. I swapped X and Z motor cables to test motor and cable ,,works fine so they are good.

I have a spare Gecko G540 so I swap the MX4660 out to see if it is that ,,,,Nope, same thing. I also have another UC100, so I swap that in with the Orig. MX4660 and I'm back in business.
So it seems my UC100 is going bad.

Now how would I go about troubleshooting/ fixing my Bad unit or even where to start looking?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, D.

I would check those output pins of the UC100 which drives the step/dir signals for your axis.
I would measure the direction output pin to ground, jog left, measure, jog right measure.
The Voltage should change 0Volts and 5Volts depending on the direction of jogging.
You can then remove the step pin number to 0 and set that pin as direction pin and do the same measurement.

This way you could see if the output voltage is changing or not.
If not then the output pin gone bad, probably the 74HC14 output buffer in the UC100, one chip has 6 output channels inside the UC100.
If that gone bad that sould be exchanged with desoldering and soldering in a new chip.
