Tool change and length measurement

Postby ruditraxler » Sun Nov 19, 2023 11:45 am

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the UCCNC community and am currently struggling to understand UCCNC, coming from Mach3 which I have been using until recently. But since I bought a UC300ETH and felt the machine ran smoother and more stable with UCCNC, I dared to switch.

The machine is running and I have already produced something.
Just changing tools drives me crazy.

Workflow at Mach 3:
Tool in spindle->Press Caliprier button->
The machine moves to the tool change position and to the tool length probe-> A 0 is entered in the tool table because it is the first tool->
Set to material G54 X0 Y0 Z0_>
Start the program->
The program runs until the tool change->
Press the tool change-> button
Machine moves to tool change position with the message “New tool”->
After changing the tool, confirm with OK->
Z-axis moves on the length probe and writes the measured difference to Tool1 into the table->
Press the Start button and the machine continues to process the job until the next tool change or program end. -> Everything is ready and everyone is happy.

I'm a hobby user, only what I've found on the topic is poorly documented and assumes that the user is familiar with programming macros and setting buttons on the UCCNC interface and can do it in their sleep.

Unfortunately I don't speak English and I have to get the information via Google Translate.

Thanks for the help
