Z axis stalling when set to over 80%

Recently I am having trouble with my Z axis which is stalling when I run it manually over 80%.
Not sure why it happened only on Z axis.
Any ideas?

You don't say if this is plasma THC or a router style Z axis.

The first thing I would be looking very carefully at, is mechanical changes. Binding etc.

This is a 3 axis cnc router. I disconnected the couple in order to eliminate any mechanical interference, same problem. Looks like has to do with acceleration.

If it used to work fine, then something has changed. Often it's a mechanical issue, or lack of lubrication. But it could be any number of other issues.
Lowering the acceleration will help mask the problem, but it doesn't fix it.

But since I have eliminated all the mechanical side by decoupling the stepper than mechanical issues even if they are will not effect the stalling.
Looks like something is in the electronics. I am using UC100. Both lights blue and green are on and the X and Y axis are working fine

Wire the Z axis motor to a different drive, and see if anything changes.
