Mach4 development? {spindle sync again...}

Postby Robertspark » Tue Jul 17, 2018 6:46 am

Just wondering if cncdrive are actively doing any Mach4 development?

More accurately, I know that at some point spindle sync with mach 4 worked with the UC plugin, then it got broken when something changed in Mach4, I was just wondering if cncdrive were going to have another go / were actively developing the mach4 plugin any further {or is it to be left dormant??}

It makes it SO much simpler to be able to use Mach4 for turning applications, whilst still being able to shutdown Mach4 and start UCCNC and then use the same UC motion controller with UCCNC and "play" {test} with some turning development work / hacks, whilst knowing that if I want to actually make something I've still got a working fallback setup with Mach4 turn.

I've got a dormant Mach4 licence, and am looking to use Pokeys who do offer threading with Mach4, with a Pokeys 57E I have to hand {I was using with PoBlocks some time ago}

You also need a PoExtBusOC16CNC too to do spindle sync in Mach4, so its not just the Pokeys 57E
