Probe //How to connect 4 wire automatic tool sensor to UB1

Postby lloxley016 » Wed Oct 07, 2020 6:57 pm

hello,

Looking for help to Setup 4 wire automatic tool sensor to UB1. I seen people on Youtube with it setup on UB1, UCCNC Software. Didn't show how it was setup/connected.

The only wiring on google.

Ask Weerasak from CNC Room.

There are many ways to connect the CNC tool setters to the UB1 board. Because it supports both NPN and PNP inputs. Also, there are two choices of showing LED lamp on tool setters which depending on who prefers what. Someone might prefer LED lamp to light when the touch plate is pressed.

It is impossible to turn UB1 inputs on while the NC contact switch is opened. But here is the trick. In the schematics on the right side, We need an external resistor value 2K 1 watt to form a leaking current for the inputs and lamp, then the NC contact switch act as the bypasser. it bypasses current flowing thru the input and lamp. But when the switch is opened, the leaking current will flow thru the input and lamp.

For safety reasons, It is wise to choose a tool setter with Normally Closed (NC) contact switch because when the connection lead broken, the CNC software can notify the abnormal state of tool setter to the users.

Thanks, Weerasak

Yes i no about this diagram, i seen it before when i was doing my research found it on google.

i no the port use, because i hive NPN sensor setup for Z,Y,X. already using X110 to X105 for sensor.

I my question how to connect it, So my NPN sensor are three wire.. and my old probe was two wire. So now this "" automatic tool sensor "" Has fore wire's, and has no lamp or LED indicator.

Yellow wire / => assuming it's ( Probe Single )

Green Wire /=> assuming it's ( Probe Return Single )

Red wire /=> 24v + Resistor 2k 1w

Black wire /=> Either ( COM- ) or ( 0V ) Or Connect Green wire to ( COM-) + resistor

it's a while in sumption, but is the only theory i came up. lol

Did this end up working for you the way you have it written? Did you wire in the over travel to the OSSD safety circuit?
