UC300ETH with UCBB JMC JAND AC Servo Alarm wiring

Postby andrej » Tue Jun 07, 2022 2:06 pm

Hi, can someone please advise how to wire an AC servo alarm (or any other general purpose) output to an input on a UCBB breakout boar (UC300ETH controller)?

I tried to wire it according to AXBB-e instructions I found here on the forum but the input always has about 15.6V between the I- and I+.

The servo output can be switched (changed in servo settings) between being on when the condition is true (alarm on) or being off when the condition is true. I tried both but result is always the same.

I assume the 2k ressistor does not have to be added as UCBB has onboard ones on all inputs right?

Here is the full servo manual if it would help, output wiring is on page 23 and the attached file.

Thanks
Andrej

Mine is about the same and is directly wired to the ucbb. Full 24v control circuits.

24v Psu + into >>>> ucbb input + side.
Ucbb input - side out to >>>> servo D0# +.
DO# - side >>>> out to 24v psu - side.

Think of the circuit as a series chain. + > - > + > - > + > - etc.

That is what I did, but can't seem to get the output to change state. Going to try another driver. To make sure I did not solder incorrect pins for the output on the 50 pin IO header.

That's why I prefer to get a pin to pin cable and a screw terminal breakout board. My solder skills can be iffy and the control cable is an important jigsaw piece to get wrong.

Checked all the wiring, tried all the drivers. All behave the same. No change of voltage (about 16V is always present) on the ucbb input no matter what the servo sate is.. This is getting a bit confusing.
