Hello,

I'm out of ideas on how to wire the 6 PIN MPG. Could anyone help with wiring? The picture below shows how I wire the MPG. I change settings in the UCCNC
MPG A Pin 10, Port 2;
MPG B Pin 11, port 2.

But can't get this thing working. Thank you for your help! :)

the problem is the ucbb inputs have 2k2 resistors on their inputs and are designed for 24v input and you are trying to get good quality signals from what I presume is a 5v output mpg.....

you need to get a 26pin Bob or a lpt Bob with a 26pin idc >> 25pin lpt port cable and wire it direct to the uc300eth spare ports or pins...

It may work with 5 volts, but the connection on the drawing is bad. Try the following. (You can also try to connect A- and B- instead of A and B.)

Thank you very much for your reply and suggestion. I have IDC26 breakout board and will give it a try :)

Thank you for your input. I will add 0v wiring as per your modified diagram.

Thank you, gents! Your help is much appreciated!

I have tested both suggestions.

dezsoe - Your suggestion did not work :( I wired as per the corrected diagram and I can see that UCBB CN1 light is blinking when I rotate the MPG. But when I open the pin mapping plugin or diagnostics page - only A input is working and in some strange manner - registers only every fifth or sixth encoder pulse (even if the UCBB registers the every pulse input by blinking the led). I have tried to wire A-;B-; but the issue is the same.

Robertspark - Your suggestion did the trick! I used breadboard wires and wired directly two wires from port 3 pin 10 and pin 11 to A and B MPG terminal and it works without any issue now!

Many thanx for Your help gents!

I have the UCR201 wireless CNC jog pendant and I really like it. But once I plug the UCR201 adapter into USB, my newly panel-mounted MPG stops working. Is there a way to have both JOG pendants?

Thank You

OK, that's why I wrote "may work". It depends on how the outputs are driven in the MPG.

No, you cannot use 2 MPGs.

Thank you dezsoe.

I was wondering if the panel-mounted MPG could be assigned to "normal" jog functions (used instead of the keyboard) and the MPG would be the actual handheld device? That way I could have two MPG controls (one on panel, one handheld if needed).
