both ports on the uc400 are standard LPT ports.... or pins 2-9 are outputs.

the mb2 was designed for the ess.... be careful as only port 1 on the ess is a fixed lpt port... the other two can be changed to EPP (is pins 2-9 are changed to inputs)

check manual if unsure

yup.... you can only use ports 1 and 3 on the mb2

Very helpful info. Thank you. I'm going to try dezsoe's suggestion and use 2, UCSB single boards. I took a hard look at my set up today and the 2 single boards are compatible with the uc400ETH and should swap in without too much trouble. But I cant seem to find a manual for the UCSB board?? Disregard, found it.

Thats not going to work. No 0-10V output. I'll try the MB2 and just use ports 1 and 3.

Be careful with the MB2! As I see in the manual, it supplies 5V to the controller board on all the 3 ports. Do not connect those pins! (I didn't find which pins, you have to measure it, but I think that the usual pin 26.)

Yeah, when I used the MB2 with my UC300ETH, I used a 25 wire cable to eliminate the 5V.

Still deciding. Thank you all for your input. This might be the greatest assembly of CNC talent on the internet: ger21, dezsoe, robertspark and me of course :roll:
I'm driving Clearpath Servo's which just take step and direction signals but unfortunately need more than 5v for a differential drive connection. Incidentally, they are working this way right now but Teknic says they are not as reliable when driven this way and can fail prematurely. If I use the MB2 with just ports 1 and 3 I lose the charge pump because its on port 2. Re-looking at the HDBB2 it has the analog out and the charge pump. The only drawback is the RJ45 servo connectors. I could make it work. But if they have a greater than 5v differential signal then I'd definitely use it. Would need 2, or one HDBB2 and one UCSB, either way ~$100 plus shipping.
Next option is the the AXBB_E; meets all the requirements just $50 more than the HDBB2.
Last option is possibly(?) the UD1 daughter board from cncroom. I like its architecture, I'm familiar with the UB1. I think the 2 LPT ports of the UC400eth are compatible with it(?). Its outputs are fast enough to function as line drivers for the servo's, I believe its freely configurable so its would just be a matter of correct pin assignments in the UCCNC software ?? No analog output though. ~$105 plus shipping.
Any thoughts?

The UD1 has 2 input type ports, so it's the absolute wrong card for the UC400ETH.

if it were me.... AXBB-E + uccnc licence and recover some cost selling the uc400eth.

job done decision over.... if it meets all your needs why fuss with bobs etc and trying to find/ create a 0-10v signal

time is money.... and time is sometimes better spent on other issues like getting it all wired up and tested
