macro - status box - anyway to dispay a message

Postby Robertspark » Sun Sep 25, 2016 2:53 pm

As per the title.... anyone know of a way to put a comment in the status box?

i thought it may be a field or something similar but I cannot see it.

I use messagebox quite a lot, but I've got a a macro for a plasma torch touch off using a shared input for the floating head and the ohmic probe, and I'd like to add a message to the status box to say that there is an ohmic probe problem (but I don't want to use a message box or stop the programme as I can still use the floating head).

(the problem is commonly crud in the torch tip which shorts out the ohmic cap to the torch, the macro tests for this before starting the probing routine, and if the input is active, it drops the relay out for the ohmic probe and just uses the floating head touch off) ... hence no need to stop the machine for me as the machine will set either the ohmic / floating head offset according to which is triggered) I can clean the tip / replace the tip for the next job .... but it would be nice to see something in the status box

I'll post the code late for anyone to use / learn from

Thanks in advance for your time + guidance

Bump.
I'd like to know about this too, as I like to display messages during some macros.
It looks like there are only two Lists in the entire screenset, numbers 1 and 2.

If there's no way to write to a List, then I'll add a second Status bar to my screen that I can write to.

Hey, Robert or Gerry,

It looks like the answer-containing post has disappeared from this old thread. Could one of your guys share the trick for writing to the status box?

I found the thread describing how to do it from the Gcode, but I'm looking for a way to do it from a macro.

exec.AddStatusmessage("Put Message Here");
