Hi all.
I'm confused as to why I can't change the Tool Number in the DRO (897). I have an 8 position ATC which is working fine and shown below is the M6...

I'm trying to change the tool number to 9 but it just keeps the current tool number. No doubt a rookie error, but if someone can help out, that would be great.
Thanks in advance
Keith

Hi,
You can write the new tool number into the 2652 DRO and then you can call the Change tool button code which is the 783.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
However, I'm still confused (Rookie). Firstly....why doesn't the existing field (897) accept tool 9, when it accepts 1 to 8?
I tried adding what you suggested but 783 still doesn't accept tool 9. Plus, I don't want to actually change the tool. In the past, I could set the Tool DRO (897) to another number (Tool 14 for example), put the tool in the spindle, but not run the macro. The DRO would then accept it. So, the cause must be in the M6 macro??

Fields can have a minimum and maximum value set for them, and you can change it with the screen editor.

Thanks Gerry, just what I was after. I didn't realise that they had a min/max value....but I do now!
